To Whom It May Concern:

During August of 2001 DBA kindly supplied Dasfleet Auto Service with a set of slotted front rotors for assessment on an Australian Federal Police pursuit vehicle.

The vehicle that we chose to fit the rotors to was a VX Holden Commodore
5.71t Gen 3 with a history of being driven to it's full potential when required.

The rotors were fitted at 40657km along with a set of Bendix Ultimate pads
(supplied by B.B.S in Fyshwick) and the drivers asked to return the vehicle at 10,000km intervals for inspection and measurement.

Within a week or so the vehicle was returned to our workshop for an unrelated issue at which time the officers were asked their opinions on the brakes. The only negative point mentioned was the extra noise when braking, this was an observation and of no concern whatsoever.

On a more positive note however they were more than impressed by the overall braking and the lack of brake fade compared to the original rotors and in the following months those comments didn't change.

I seem to have misplaced the figures that we obtained at the 10k interval however they were faxed to D.B.A at the time of service. At the 60,000km service we replaced the rotors due to slight heat cracks that had appeared, it was decided that rather than machine them we would return them for your inspection. However based on measurements at the time of removal only 0.7mm had been used therefore I would estimate that the lifespan of these rotors may even exceed 45-50,00Okm, compared to 15-25000km for standard
rotors.

At a rough guess I would also say pad wear was almost halved. I would like to commend D.B.A for supplying a faultless range of products across the board and for giving us the opportunity to trail products new to the market, in saying this Dasfleet Auto Service will continue to use and recommend D.B.A products and are willing to assist in new product trials or information wherever possible.
