Why buy DBA 5000 series disc rotors
DBA’s 5000 series range of disc brake rotors are the ultimate braking solution for the car enthusiast looking for race quality performance in a product that is easily mistaken for a quality piece of modern art.
Every DBA 5000 series disc rotor is manufactured from a combination of the finest quality cast iron, aircraft grade aluminium centres, and aircraft grade mounting hardware. DBA’s intelligent utilisation of two different high grade materials provides a perfectly balanced brake design that can freely expand and contract without warping.
Featuring DBA’s patented 144 diamond and tear-drop pillar design ( Kangaroo Paw ) ventilation system the 5000 series cast iron rotor has a precise balance of material on either side of the disc which is not achievable on a standard one piece disc due to the integrated mounting bell.
The integrated mounting bell on only one side of a traditional disc rotor produces two different heating and cooling rates which in turn generates two different amounts of thermal expansion. This differential amount of expansion leads to warped disc rotors and stress. A warped disc rotor generates more pressure on the disc pads and increases wear.
DBA was the first brake company to introduce the heat seasoning process “TSP” and temperature monitoring system across the whole performance (or sport disc) range to ensure optimum warp free performance from the first brake application.
DBA’s precisely engineered 6061 T6 aircraft-grade aluminium mounting centres do not retain heat like cast iron. This more efficient heat loss reduces the overall temperature of the disc in heavy braking situations. Lower temperatures also contribute to less disc wear.
Quality Aircraft grade stainless steel NAS bolts compliment the union between the disc and mounting centre with maximum strength and safety guaranteed. To ensure maximum performance and safety each 5000 series disc rotor is hand finished and inspected by our team of experts.
DBA 5000 series disc rotors are available in slotted “SL/SR” for hard core performance or cross drilled and slotted “XS” for performance with style. |
